Rolling On The River
Late in the afternoon on Saturday, July 31, our Team at ThyssenKrupp Steel USA rolled its first successful coil in our newly commissioned state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill. In September, our Team added another exciting reason to celebrate with the first coil rolled in our Cold Rolling Mill. Located on the Tombigbee River in north Mobile County, Alabama, these major milestones at our facility marked the official beginning of our production and took us a giant leap forward toward becoming fully operational by the end of the year.
Our river terminal, slab yard, coil yard, waste water treatment facilities, quality lab and finishing lines are all operational.
Our Sales Team, with offices in Calvert and Detroit, are receiving orders and continue to be met with excitement by companies in the automotive, service center sector, pipe & tube, appliance and construction industries.
After nearly three years of building a leading edge company both inside and out, ThyssenKrupp Steel USA is poised to set new standards in the North American market.
