CALVERT, ALABAMA [January 19, 2010] ThyssenKrupp Steel USA and ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA announced today that it will be holding a job fair for Wastewater Treatment Operators, Industrial HVAC, Crane Mechanics and Crane Electricians on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Alabama Industrial Development Training offices in the Festival Center at 3715 Airport Blvd. in Mobile, Alabama. Interested applicants with experience in these areas are encouraged to attend and apply.
“We’re on schedule to fire up our operations this spring,” said Scott Posey, Director of Communications for ThyssenKrupp Steel USA. “We’re looking for experienced people to operate and maintain the infrastructure we’ve installed over the course of the last two years. These positions are key to the safe and steady operations of our mills.”
ThyssenKrupp is investing $4.6 billion in constructing state-of-the-art carbon steel and stainless steel processing facilities in Calvert, Alabama. Both facilities are scheduled to begin operations in 2010. When fully operational, they will provide the NAFTA market with 5.1 million metric tons of high quality value-added products for customers in the automotive, construction, pipe and tube, service center, and appliance industries.
