Welcome. Willkommen.
ThyssenKrupp Steel USA, LLC is nearing completion of its multi-billion dollar state-of-the-art carbon steel processing facility in north Mobile County, Alabama.
The advanced technology facility is a cornerstone of ThyssenKrupp's Materials Division's new global market expansion. When the first operations begin in early summer of 2010, the new state-of-the-art facility will help meet the future demand for high quality value-added flat carbon steel products in the NAFTA market, particularly in the United States.
The facilities include a state-of-the-art river terminal, rail terminal, hot strip mill, cold rolling mill and four hot dip coating lines which will process slabs from ThyssenKrupp CSA's multi-billion dollar steel making facility currently under construction on Sepetiba Bay in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro.
The facility will have an annual capacity of 4.3 million metric tons of American made carbon steel products for customers in the automotive, construction, pipe and tube, service center, and appliance industries.
This investment in Alabama will allow ThyssenKrupp to bring its nearly two hundred year old metallurgical expertise, technical support, and successful business model based on long-term customer relationships and support to the NAFTA region.
We are well underway in building a talented Team that is moving us successfully toward our goals. Both our construction and our hiring remains on schedule for us to begin operations in the early summer of 2010 and to meet our Team's Mission of establishing ourselves as the premier steel producer in the NAFTA region.
